Description: Humanidades Puerto Rico invites you to watch the fifth installment of the documentary series “El taller de la playa de Ponce: Las artes como vía del conocimiento y aprendizaje de vida” [roughly translated as “The Ponce Beach Workshop: The Arts as a Path to Knowledge and Life Lessons”]. This film showcases creative and communicative processes that demonstrate how the arts enrich us in ways that go beyond the usual methods, highlighting the value of collective work.
“El Taller de La Playa” is a center dedicated to art, design, and communication, led by master artist Antonio Martorell. Since 1991, it has served as a hub for learning and production, benefiting the local beach town (player)community, “the Island,” the Puerto Rican diaspora, and audiences abroad. The workshop produces artworks for public spaces, museums, galleries, universities, educational and business centers, and publications, among others.
