Lecture — “From the Caribbean to Bayville: Piping Plovers”

Audubon New York presents, “From the Caribbean to Bayville: Piping Plovers Return to Nest on our Shores,” on Monday, April 28, 2025, 7:00pm-8:00pm, at Sperandei Hall, Bayville Public Library, 34 School Street, Bayville, New York.

Description: Did you know endangered and threatened shorebirds are present on Long Island shores each spring and summer? Birds such as the Piping Plover fly thousands of miles from where they winter in the Caribbean to have their chicks on the shores of Bayville! The Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary and Audubon Center will be giving a special talk at the Bayville Public Library on Piping Plovers and other local shorebirds who migrate, nest, and live right in our backyard!

Pre-registration is required. To register, please visit https://bayvillefreelibrary.assabetinteractive.com/calendar/from-the-caribbean-to-bayville-piping-plovers-return-to-nest-on-our-shores/
