Curaçaoan filmmaker Sharelly Emanuelson is the next featured participant for the #CaribbeanLinked V regional residency, taking place August 6 through 28 at Ateliers ’89 in Aruba.
Description (Caribbean Linked): Sharelly Emanuelson is a filmmaker based in the Dutch Caribbean. She acquired her B.A. in Audiovisual Media from the School of Arts, Utrecht, followed by a M.A. in Artistic Research at the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague. In addition to her films, Emanuelson creates video installations where she engages in the documentation and representation of the many perspectives and experiences of the Caribbean region. She also founded Uniarte, a non-profit, artists led organization on Curacao and The Netherlands that works to contribute to a fertile and sustainable environment for art to flourish in a contemporary Caribbean context.
Caribbean Linked is organized by Ateliers ’89, Fresh Milk and Arc Magazine, with support this year from BankGiro Loterij Fonds, Mondriaan Fonds, Unoca Aruba, Aruba Bank N.V. and the TPEF.
