El Depósito (Hernández Castrodad Collection), in collaboration with REUNIÓN.ESPACIO, presents “Reembarque”— a solo exhibition by Puerto Rican artist Manuel Alejandro Rodríguez-Delgado. Curated by Norma Vila, the show brings together a selection of works spanning from 2004 to the present. “Reembarque” will open to the public on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at El Depósito, located in the Angora Industrial Park, Angora Avenue, Building E, Highway 1, Km. 33.3, Barrio Bairoa, in Caguas, Puerto Rico. Description: The exhibition title directly alludes to the act of putting something back into circulation: a shipment that changes destination or an object that travels again. The show uses this premise as a starting point to observe the transformations of a practice developed over two decades, establishing a constant dialogue with the Puerto Rican context and the experiences of migration and belonging.
REEMBARQUE offers a profound look at the evolution of an artistic exploration that moves between sculpture, technology, science fiction, memory, and displacement. Through electronic components, industrial materials, found objects, and natural elements, Rodríguez-Delgado constructs artifacts and installations that question the relationship between consumption, territory, and survival, offering new possibilities to that which has been discarded.
Manuel Alejandro Rodríguez-Delgado earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from the School of Visual Arts and Design of Puerto Rico and a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Sculpture from the prestigious School of the Art Institute of Chicago. His work has been exhibited at numerous institutions in Puerto Rico and the United States, and he has received grants and residencies that support his approach to imagining possible futures from the material remnants of the present.
