Description: The Uncle’s Request is a film that, from a distinctive and avant-garde perspective, explores migration, exile, memory, and the pursuit of justice through a Cuban story that transcends its original context and achieves a human and universal dimension. The film earned the Best Screenplay (Feature) Award at the Manhattan Film Festival. This special screening will include a conversation with the film director, producers, and actors.

Ricardo Bacallao was born in Cuba and completed this film as the graduation project for his master’s degree at New York University. He currently resides in Berlin, where he has developed a significant body of work exploring the experiences of Hispanic communities in Germany.
