El Adoquín Times shares that “painting and poetry converge in ‘Ocho vientos’ [Eight Winds], a new exhibition by Puerto Rican artist Jean-Michel Fiedler. The show opens on October 27 and will remain on view until November 28, 2026, at the San Patricio Art Center (SPACE), located at Galería San Patricio, in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. “Sixteen oil paintings and sixteen poems address desire, memory, vulnerability, and the search for balance.” For an insightful review, visit All About Art.

Description: The San Patricio Art Center (SPACE) announces the opening of “Ocho vientos,” a solo exhibition by Puerto Rican artist Jean-Michel Fiedler. The exhibition features 16 oil-on-canvas paintings alongside poems written by the artist. The opening will take place on Tuesday, October 27, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The exhibition will be open to the public until Saturday, November 28, 2026—Tuesdays through Saturdays, from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.—at the San Patricio Gallery in Guaynabo.

The exhibition stems from a long-standing concept that remains relevant today: life is shaped by forces that shift us from one state to another. Gaining or losing, experiencing pleasure or pain, receiving praise or criticism, being recognized or ignored—these are the “eight worldly winds,” a concept from the Buddhist tradition that Émeric Achard uses to discuss Fiedler’s work.

In this exhibition, the figures, animals, objects, and landscapes transcend the purely philosophical. The paintings blend the everyday with the imaginary, memory with desire, and vulnerability with humor and mystery. They reveal glimpses of an inner world.
