The exhibition “Nostalgia por mi Isla: Pintura puertorriqueña del Museo de Arte de Ponce (1788-1962)” will open tomorrow, Saturday, April 12, at the Art Museum of Puerto Rico [MAPR, Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico] in Santurce, San Juan, Puerto Rico.
This traveling exhibition was previously on view at the Allentown Art Museum, in Allentown, Pennsylvania, in 2023, and the Rollins Museum of Art, in Winter Park, Florida, in 2024.
Organized by the Ponce Museum of Art, in partnership with the Puerto Rico Museum of Art, this show centers on three popular themes in Puerto Rican art during the first half of the 20th century: “Mi hogar,” “Mi gente,” and Mi isla” [My Home, My People, and My Island].
