Ras Mosera and Jill (Jacqueline Llobregat) are currently participating in an exhibition that opened as part of the activities celebrating World Tourism Day on September 27, 2009. Jill and Mosera have approximately 37 paintings on view at the Office of Tourism in Marigot, St. Martin. The exhibition will run through this month, ending on October 30. The Office of Tourism is located at Rte. de Sandy Ground, Marigot, St. Martin.

World Tourism Day is meant to raise awareness on the role of tourism within the international community and to demonstrate how it affects social, cultural, political and economic values worldwide. Every year, a topic and a host country are chosen as the center for various events through the month of October. With the theme “Celebrating Diversity,” World Tourism Day commemorates this year its 30th anniversary in Ghana. This year’s theme focuses on the world’s cultural wealth and the important role sustainable tourism plays in revitalizing local traditions and making them flourish as they cross other cultures. The artists selected to show their work at Office of Tourism this month aptly represent the diversity of St. Martin’s cultural heritage and production.

Featured here is Mosera’s “View on the Red Sea” (2009).
