In honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month, this festival’s executive director and celebrity author Mayra Santos Febres, with organizers Charlie Vázquez and José Manuel Fajardo, will be on hand to answer questions about this sensational multinational and multilingual festival and its stance as a cultural push against the prohibiting of ethnic studies texts, such as is happening in Tucson, Arizona and likely to happen elsewhere.
(At Lehman College, Hostos Community College, Fordham University, Baruch College, King Juan Carlos I Center/NYU, McNally-Jackson Bookstore, Instituto Cervantes, and Queen Sofia Spanish Institute.)
This year’s New York programming will also bring two special presentations to Lehman College and Hostos Community College in the Bronx, New York’s most Latino borough, where international writers will have the chance to meet directly with students and faculty. You are cordially invited to attend this press conference, which will finish at around 2:00PM.
