Tosh 1 Debuts at “Life Fest Peace and Love Concert”

Tosh 1, the son of the late great reggae artist Peter Tosh (Winston Hubert McIntosh), will make his debut performance in Jamaica, at “Life Fest Peace and Love Concert” on May 1, 2010, at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre. He will join Damian and Stephen Marley on stage, in what is considered will be a historic performance, in view of the fact that, years ago, Bob Marley and Peter Tosh performed together on stage for another peace concert.

Event Coordinator D. Escoffery of D’Empire Management says that “Life Fest Peace and Love Concert will see history repeat itself as the offspring of iconic Jamaica roots and culture veterans team up to deliver at the Carlyle Foundation second staging of what promises to be the most memorable concert of 2010.” According to Jawara McIntosh, Tosh 1’s his taste in music was influenced by the rhythm and lyrics of his uncle Bunny Wailer, Bob Marley, and his father Peter Tosh.

Born in Kingston, Jamaica and raised in Boston, Massachusetts. Tosh 1 began to write when he was ten years old, haunted by the murder of his father and “the unanswered questions surrounding this tragic event.” Tosh 1 states, “My mission is to deliver a message of Truth without compromise in the language I am most familiar with, the language of the struggle.”

Other artists slated to perform at the concert include Jazmine Sullivan, Liam Bailey, Alison Hinds, Capleton, Queen Ifrica, I Octane, Richie Spice Konshens, Chino, Laden, Briggy, Tajji, and Spragga Benz.

Proceeds from the show will be donated to the Carlyle Foundation to assist deserving high/secondary-school for their academic achievement.
