The Museum of Contemporary Art of Puerto Rico [Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Puerto Rico (MAC or MACPR)] recently announced DUAL, which it describes as “Dos actos: una misión,” two events tied by a single mission. The two events— MODA and GALA MAC 2026 (described below), connecting fashion with contemporary art— are designed to raise funds for exhibitions, education programs, and MAC en el Barrio activities that aim to “bring art and culture to communities in Puerto Rico, the Caribbean, and the United States.”
MODA: September 25, 2026, 7:00pm (Interior Patio of the MAC)
GALA MAC 2026: November 7, 2026, 7:00pm (Interior Patio of the MAC)
See details in the excerpts below.
DUAL is more than a celebration of Puerto Rican art, fashion, and creativity: it’s an initiative that directly contributes to the mission of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Puerto Rico (MAC). Through its two events, MODA and GALA MAC 2026, DUAL offers a journey that begins with fashion as a dynamic art form and culminates in our GALA MAC, a multidisciplinary experience where music, art, and performance converge.
On this journey, designers, artists, and the general public come together to celebrate Puerto Rican creativity and be part of something even bigger: supporting the MAC’s mission. The funds raised through DUAL contribute to our Exhibitions, Education, and MAC en el Barrio programs, which bring art and culture to communities in Puerto Rico, the Caribbean and the United States.
In this edition, designers such as Stella Nolasco, Awaecocco, Herman Nadal, and Namibia Viera, along with other participants, will be part of this experience that connects fashion with contemporary art. [. . .]
