AIGA, the professional association for design, selected Rafael Trelles’s In Concrete: Urban Graphics 2004–2010 (L’Artban Contemporary Art, 2025), Forecast Form: Art in the Caribbean Diaspora, 1990s–Today (DelMonico Books, 2025) edited by Carla Acevedo-Yates, and no existe un mundo poshuracán (Whitney Museum of American Art, 2025) edited by Marcela Guerrero and designed by Luis A. Vázquez O’Neill, among the winners in the “Cover Winner” category of its 50 Books / 50 Covers competition; the three authors / editors are from Puerto Rico. Selected in the “Book Winner” category is a study on the late Cuban-born artist Félix González-Torres, Always to Return (Radius Books, 2025).

AIGA writes, “Starting in 1923 as the Fifty Books of the Year competition, this time-honored competition identifies the 50 best-designed books and book covers of the year. Together, we celebrate powerful and compelling book design and the community‘s most inspired creations.”
