
Word Up Community Bookshop / Librería Comunitaria and Bronx Music Hall welcome Julia Alvarez to celebrate her new poetry collection, Visitations. This event will be accompanied by music and a conversation between Alvarez and fellow Dominican American writer Angie Cruz. This event takes place at Bronx Music Hall on April 28, 2026, at 7:00pm (doors open at 6:30pm). Theater Mania writes:
Word Up Community Bookshop/Librería Comunitaria and the Bronx Music Heritage Center proudly present literary icon Julia Alvarez for Visitations, her latest collection drawn from all the seasons of her life, from childhood to the years of silver.
This exciting evening, held in the Bronx, will feature a conversation between Alvarez and two fellow Dominican-American writer Angie Cruz (Dominicana, How Not to Drown in a Glass of Water).
Spanish-language interpretation will be available.
