Dominican singer/songwriter and music producer Gabo Lora presents Día normal [Normal Day] “an album where indie pop meets contemporary songwriting.” The album will be available on all streaming platforms on September 17, 2026. Lora explains that “the album explores the coexistence of light and shadow, the quiet loneliness of everyday life… the melancholy of roots left behind…” and, after a quick listen, we really felt what he described. We were impressed by the album’s lyrical cohesion and ethereal, yet down-to-earth, quality; in sum, Día normal is distinctive and musically captivating. Description: After years of composing, producing and collaborating across a wide range of musical projects, Dominican artist Gabo Lora unveils Día Normal, his first full-length Spanish-language pop album.
Featuring ten original songs, Día Normal moves between indie pop, melancholic pop and contemporary singer-songwriter music. Through intimate songwriting and understated production, the album explores the coexistence of light and shadow, the quiet loneliness of everyday life, the emotion of watching his nephews grow up from afar, the melancholy of roots left behind, the passing of time, and the many forms of love.
Before launching his solo career, Gabo Lora co-founded and played keyboards with Rita Indiana y los Misterios, one of the Dominican Republic’s most influential alternative bands. Throughout his career he has also opened for acclaimed French artists Kid Francescoli and Jeanne Added, experiences that have helped shape his artistic voice.
The album’s first single, “Puntos cardinales,” [was] released on August 14, offering a first glimpse into a record built around delicate melodies, refined arrangements and deeply personal songwriting.
Written and produced between Berlin and the Dominican Republic, Día Normal marks the beginning of a new artistic chapter for Gabo Lora—an independent project that values emotion over formula.
