Dominican Republic Environment Ministry creates “Environmental Volunteers”


To mark its 17th anniversary the Dominican Republic’s Environment Ministry announced the creation of the Environmental Volunteers [Voluntariado Ambiental], with the motto “All for one cause, protect the Environment.”

Minister Francisco Dominguez administered the oath to the more than 100 volunteers, who pledged to recruit others for the initiative to ensure community participation in the conservation, management and sustainable use of natural resources and the environment.

He praised the work by the mostly youngsters who voluntarily give their time for the planet’s conservation. “I want to highlight and express satisfaction starting with these volunteers of Greater Santo Domingo to protect the environment and with that, take advantage of the Environment Ministry’s anniversary celebration, to make a great call to all Dominican people; Men and women, young people, to launch this voluntary participation project and commitment to defend our natural heritage.”
