Juan Luis Guerra is to open a restaurant in Punta Cana (Dominican Republic) next year. According to EFE, the Spanish news agency, the restaurant will be called Restaurant & Pop Musical Bachata Rosa by SBG.

Although few details have been made public, the Dominican singer and composer is developing the project with his friend and chef Joaquín Renovales.

EFE added that the restaurant is “a new culinary and musical concept that will house a collection of objects connected to the artist’s career and will include a store of merchandise associated with his brand.”

The restaurant’s name needs no explanation for fans of the musician. Bachata Rosa was the name of Guerra’s fifth studio album, recorded in 1990 and responsible for the beginning of his global fame. The album won the Grammy for Best Traditional Tropical Album in 1992.
