Autogiro reports that the exhibition 15 Artists/15 Artistas, a collective exhibition featuring fifteen artists from Latin America and the Caribbean, opens this evening at Gallery 501 of the Howard W. Blake School of the Arts. The exhibition features works by artists who live in Florida (including pieces from the collection of the University of South Florida. The exhibition runs from September 25 to October 6, 2015.
Curated by Noel Smith, the exhibition includes painting, drawing, photography, and sculpture. The participating artists are: Abel Barroso, Los Carpinteros, Manuel Carrillo, Edgar Sánchez Cumbas, Vanessa Diaz, Cecelia Escobar, Carlos Garaicoa, Cosme Herrera, Graciela Iturbide, Jorge Macchi, Roberto Márquez, Omar Rayo, Julio Salas, Francisco Toledo, and Jesús Vazquez.
The Howard W. Blake School of the Arts is a magnet high school focusing on vocal and instrumental music, theater, dance, visual arts, television production and creative writing. Its Gallery 501 exhibits art as an extension of the classroom, in which international and regional artists are shown.
