Various events celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2011, at Renaissance Park, located at 225 E. Princess St., York, Pennsylvania. The events, hosted by Centro Hispano Jose Hernandez (CHJH), will begin at 10:00am.
Activities will include music by DJ Cachito and WLCH Radio Centro’s DJ Rafy “El Salsarazzi.” The celebration will also present performances of Caribbean and Mexican dances by groups such as Pasos Caribeños and Grupo Folklórico San José. Face painting and crafts will be offered for children. Screenings and information on health issues will also be available. Proceeds will benefit Centro Hispano.
The Centro Hispano Jose Hernandez Mission is to assist the Hispanic Community of York to fully participate in and become an integral part of the larger community while preserving their Latino culture; to promote Hispanic self-sufficiency and independence; and to encourage and support the greater participation of the Hispanic community in public and private enterprise.
