ABC to Start Filming Pilots in Puerto Rico

U.S. network ABC is taking advantage of the incentives of the new cinema law set into place in Puerto Rico to shoot pilots for its most ambitious projects for this year, including a modern version of Charlie’s Angels and the horror series The River. The network has also chosen the island to shoot one of the final episodes of the series One Tree Hill.

All of these projects have taken place in the vicinity of the Conquistador Hotel in Fajardo. Dozens curious bystanders have been able to observe the different stages and sets of the filming process and some have even had the opportunity to personally greet various actors that are filming here. Among the figures who are in Puerto Rico for these ABC projects are actresses Minka Kelly (Friday Night Lights), Rachael Taylor (Transformers) and Annie Ilonzeh (Melrose Place), who are the new “Charlie’s Angels;” also on the island for the same film, are Robert Wagner (Hart to Hart) and Puerto Rican actor Ramón Rodríguez (Transformers: The Revenge of the Fallen). The pilot of the new version of Charlie’s Angels is directed by Marcos Siega (The Vampire Diaries, Dexter, and Veronica Mars).

The River’s plot revolves around the mysterious disappearance of a popular television figure and his crew in the Amazon River and how a group of friends and relatives of the disappeared are trying to find them. The pilot to be shot on Puerto Rican soil is directed by Jaume Collet (Unknown). The cast includes Bruce Greenwood, Eloise Mumford, and Joe Anderson.
