The third annual Adelaide Salsa Festival will take place on March 25-27, 2011, in Adelaide. It promises to be “the biggest and most prestigious Latin dance event ever to be staged in South Australia.” The three days and nights of competitions, workshops, parties, and performances will offer activities for all levels with Australia’s best Latin DJs and live Caribbean music, including salsa, bachata, zouk, reggaeton, Cuban son, samba, Afro-Cuban rumba, cha-cha-cha, and more.

The festival will feature leading figures among the world’s Latin artists including World Salsa Champions Kelvin Hernández and Licelott Maldonado (from Venezuela and Puerto Rico), Brazilian dance sensations Kadu Pires and Larissa Thayane, and Australian bachata champions Moro (Airagdin Pavon, originally from Cuba) and Alegría (Gabriela Pintos, originally from Argentina). Among the many bands will be Australia’s premier salsa orchestra, Salcedo.
