On December 29, 2016, Daniel Nina launched his new novel Rompe Saragüey. The event, sponsored by El Post Antillano, Isla Negra Publishers, and La Mágica Publishers, took place at Librería Mágica (bookstore located at 1013 Juan Ponce de León Avenue, in San Juan, Puerto Rico). The author explains that the novel centers on nation and identity in Puerto Rico and its diaspora, but also constitutes an homage to singer Hector Lavoe and his work with Willie Colón from 1967 to 1974.
