New Book: “Habitantes del silencio”

Ana María Fuster Lavín’s new book—a collection of micro-stories entitled Habitantes del silencio (Editorial Pulpo, 2025)—was launched at Librería Pulpo on March 22, 2025. I’m eager to read it!

Description (by Carlos A. Colón Ruiz): Fuster Lavín reflects on mere existence, encompassing science fiction and not-so-much science fiction, non-fiction, missions and prophecies, tearing itself apart in metaphysics and in very brief briefs seeking to restore humanity. Habitantes del silencio [Inhabitants of Silence] tells of many bodies that have suffered the weight of existence. One does not decide where, when, from whom, how, or why one is born. What this book makes us ponder is that these should not be decisions: whether or not to have dignity, whether or not to have justice, whether or not to live fully. Unfortunately, reality is entangled in a vast and utter bubble of prejudices formulated by society, history, politics, and other human elements that favor those who have portrayed it to the beat of their own personal madness. And there, too, are the disadvantaged, those who force themselves to live in silence in order to survive. Ana María Fuster Lavín gets “resistance” right.
