Haiti Cultural Exchange (HCX) presents “Visualizing Memories,” an art exhibit featuring paintings by Lakou Nou artist Marie Saint-Cyr, focusing on two main subjects from her childhood: palm trees and the pastel colors of houses. Her pieces are a visual collage of her fragmented memories growing up in Haiti.
This exhibit will open at the HCX space as part of the Crown Heights Open Studio where artists, designers, galleries, creative spaces, and artsy foods across the neighborhood of Crown Heights will open their spaces to the public.
The opening will take place on Saturday, November 16, 12:00pm to 6:00pm, at FiveMyles (located at 558 St Johns Place, Brooklyn, New York).
Marie Saint-Cyr will also present a workshop earlier that day—“Navigating Art School”—to provide tips to current and prospective college art students about how to make the most out of their 4-years in art school. This workshop will take place from 11:00am to 12:30pm at the Brooklyn Public Library-Flatbush Branch (on22 Linden Boulevard, Brooklyn, New York).
