Online literary journal PREE sends a Call for Submissions of artwork for its fourth issue. Having just received a Prince Claus Fund Next Generation grant—aimed at “Stimulating young people to work towards an open, inclusive society through arts and culture”—the editors are launching a competition to find an exceptional image by a visual artist between ages 15 to 30. The theme for PREE’s issue #4 is “In a Free State.” The deadline for submissions is July 10, 2019. Editor-in-chief Annie Paul writes:
Previous issues have been anchored by images from outstanding artists such as Leasho Johnson (Issue 2 ‘Pressure’) and Adam Patterson (Issue 3 ‘#theCaribbeanisnotaRealPlace’). For our fourth issue, ‘In a Free State’ we are inviting young Caribbean visual artists, photographers and image producers to participate in a competition to produce the perfect image to accompany it. The prompts are: What does gender freedom mean to you? What does sexual freedom look like to you? For more on the theme click here.
