Haiti Cultural Exchange (HCX) announces its ten-year anniversary Ayiti: eXperimental Supper Club and Afterparty, which takes place on Thursday, June 6, 2019, at Dumbo Loft in Brooklyn, New York. This event will launch a month-long series of stellar programming and generate crucial support for HCX to continue to develop, present and promote Haitian arts and culture in New York City. Description: The evening will begin with a cocktail reception, followed by a seated dinner catered by Grandchamps restaurant, and open bar sponsored by Clairin the Spirit of Haiti; along with an exciting musical performance by Melanie Charles, and a dance afterparty.
Throughout the month of June, Haiti Cultural Exchange will present three multidisciplinary mini-series highlighting Haitian culture through music, visual arts, and dance in various locations across the borough. Performers will include Haiti-based artists: Wooly Saint Louis Jean, BIC Tizon Difè, Jean-Aurel Maurice, and Pascale Monnin; and NYC based artists Melanie Charles, André Zachery, Nubian Nene, Tara Nicholas, Val Jeanty, Brother High Rara, and more.
Through creativity, expression, and community, this month-long celebration will highlight the best and boldest of Haitian creatives in New York and Haiti, fusing genre, perspective, and environment in celebration of HCX’s unique vision for nuanced cultural representation of the Haitian diaspora and its creatives.
