Jorge Sánchez’s Para despistar a los curiosos [which roughly translates as “To throw the curious ones off-track”]—published by Aduana Vieja in 2018—will be launched on Thursday, February 28, 2019, at 7:00pm, at Librería Laberinto, located at Calle de la Cruz 251, Old San Juan, Puerto Rico. The book will be presented by Carmen Pérez Marín.
Description (Aduana Vieja): The characters of Para despistar a los curiosos seem to be amorphous figures sharply sculpted with an ax, with less attention to the finish than to their expressiveness. They are beings that live in a surreal and timeless world, in local scenes camouflaged by universality. Jorge Antonio Sánchez Rivera (1993) is a professor at the San Ignacio de Loyola School in Puerto Rico. He has published critical essays on Latin American authors and literature. Para despistar a los curiosos is his first book of fiction.
