Digitizing the Americas: Exploring Cuba through Miami, Media and Technology

Co-sponsored by the Kimberly Green Latin American and Caribbean Center and the Cuban Research Institute at Florida International University, the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Florida International University Libraries, and the Digital Library of the Caribbean (dLOC), Florida International University is hosting a conference and workshop: Exploring Cuba through Miami, Media and Technology. This event is already taking place (opened on January 7) and will continue through January 16, 2019, in Miami and Key West, Florida.

The conference includes tours of the Mel Fisher Maritime Museum’s “Voyage to Freedom: Cuban Rafter Exhibit,” a Conservation Lab (led by Shannon Burgess), and the San Carlos Institute-First Center of Cuban Exiles.
