Presented by the SineNouvèl Association, Festival Nouvelles Vues Haiti is an international film festival. Now in its second year, the festival will take place from May 21 to 27, 2018, in Haiti (mostly in Port-au-Prince and Jacmel).
The Nouvelles Vues Haiti Festival aims to promote cinematographic creation and intercultural discussions, to create a space for exchange, sharing and meeting between filmmakers from Haiti and beyond.
Through numerous events, Festival Nouvelles Vues Haiti aims to raise awareness among the public and the authorities concerned about the need for functional cinemas and to make demands for a cultural policy integrating the audiovisual professions. Therefore, some of the screening sessions are carried out on the facades of old structures, including buildings that house cinemas and theaters such as the Rex and Le Triomphe.
In its mission to contribute to the emergence of a film industry in the country, the Festival encourages and shines a spotlight on emerging filmmakers.
An inevitable space for exchange, the Festival presents a week of screenings, workshops, Kino-Lab, lectures/debates, round table discussions, exhibitions, etc.
