FlightNetwork recently launched their first annual World’s 50 Best Beaches List, chosen by the industry’s leading travel professionals.  [Just a small diversion for those watching the snow falling outside our windows (possibly, in between correcting papers) and for my fantastic students in the “Women of the Caribbean” course (some of whom are still writing their final papers)!] Caribbean beaches include Playa Paraíso and Hidden Beach (Mexico), Grace Bay (Turks and Caicos), Pinks Sands [shown above] and Pig Beach (The Bahamas), Trunk Bay (St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands), Saltwhistle Bay (St. Vincent and the Grenadines), Half Moon Bay (Antigua), Flamenco Beach (Culebra Island, Puerto Rico), Cayo Coco (Cuba), Seven Mile Beach (Cayman Islands), Horseshoe Bay (Bermuda), Grande Anse (Grenada), Los Roques (Venezuela), Shoal Beach (Anguilla), and Eagle Beach (Aruba). FlightNetwork writes:

To create The World’s 50 Best Beaches©, FlightNetwork has consulted 600+ of world’s best travel journalists, editors, bloggers and agencies — the people who do this for a living — to gain insight from their opinions and expertise. By asking the top travel professionals, Flight Network has created the most trustworthy and accurate list out there to inspire travelers and help choose their upcoming winter holiday destinations. Pack your bags and book a flight to these amazing powder white beaches, swaying palm trees, turquoise waters, volcanic coastlines, and snow-capped mountain peaks steps from the sea. [. . .]
