Throughout 2018, many transcendental events associated with the year 1898 will be commemorated in our country, America and the world.
Due to its importance and relevance, particularly in the case of our country, the Center for Martí Studies will hold, from May 16 to 18, 2018, an international meeting that will showcase the most recent research about the year 1898, focusing on what happened in 1898 and the years immediately before and after, its implications for that time and ours, confirmation of the warnings of José Martí and the fairness of his independence, democratic and anti-imperialist ideology.
The conference will be co-sponsored by the Academy of Cuban History, the Institute of Cuban History, the National Union of Historians of Cuba, the Association of Historians of Latin America and the Caribbean, CLACSO and the José Martí Cultural Society. We also intend to have the participation of scholars from our America and the Caribbean, the United States, Spain, as well as from other countries.

Each aspiring speaker will send, before March 30, 2018, a summary of the content of their work; It will include the name and surname of the author, accompanied by their personal data, curricular synthesis, institution, private address, telephone and email. The abstracts of the papers will not exceed 250 characters in Arial 12 type. Personal data must not exceed 150 characters.
The papers may have a maximum of two authors, and in those cases, only one will be entitled to attend as a delegate to the event, although both will receive the certification as presenter.
The Scientific Committee will evaluate the proposals.
Authors whose abstracts have been accepted will receive the corresponding communication and will send the full text of the paper before April 20, 2018.
