Caribbean Life to honor 31 Caribbean-Americans

Thirty-one Caribbean-American individuals will be honored for their outstanding community work during the annual Caribbean Life Impact Awards on Nov. 16 at the Paradise Catering Hall, 51 Ave. U in Brooklyn.

“This year’s honorees as well as those of past are so humbled when I reach out to them. It is so beautiful to witness that regardless of their position in their community they are so down to earth. They are a wonderful group of individuals, and I am honored to know them,” said Jennifer Stern, administrative assistant and event coordinator at Caribbean Life newspaper.


The honorees hail from all over the Caribbean, predominantly from Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Grenada, and Barbados. Many of them are making impactful progress at various cultural institutions, and have professions in community organizing, fashion, theater, hospitality, music, education, finance, social work, and hospitality.

They are Chanel Adams, Andel Husbands, Johnathan Agarrat, Melinda Alexis Hayes, Shinese Brathwaite, Narine Amarimba Charles, Dat Sookram, Carole Delinois, Soraya Denis, Lalita Etwaroo, Daniela Fifi (above right), Sharon Gordon, Rose Graham, Ingrid Griffith, Dr. Christopher Hackett, Dr. Grace Hackett, Justice Ingrid Joseph, Aminta Kilawan-Narine, Shani Kulture, Wayne S. McKenzie, Linda McPherson, Danny and Shelly Mohabir, Ashley Murray, Wenford Patrick Simpson (above left), Bahaati Pitt, Ravi Ramkeesoon, Guilaine Regis, Winette Saunders, Cyril Scorcher, Angela P. Sealy, Leticia Theodore-Greene, and Margarette Tropnas.

Recipients of the Impact Award will be wined and dined and celebrated for their achievements.
