This is a reminder that the 19th Annual Eric E. Williams Memorial Lecture: “Do Black Lives Matter in the Age of Trump?” will take place Friday, October 13, 2017, at 6:30pm at Florida International University-Modesto A. Maidique Campus, 11200 Southwest Eighth Street, Miami, Florida, at the university’s Student Access Success Center (SASC), Room 160. The lecture will be delivered by Pedro A. Noguera.
Pedro A. Noguera is a Distinguished Professor of Education at the Graduate School of Education and Information Studies at UCLA. He is director of the Center for the Study of School Transformation. His research focuses on the ways in which schools are influenced by social and economic conditions, as well as by demographic trends in local, regional and global contexts. He is the author of twelve books (His most recent book is Race, Equity and Education: The Pursuit of Equality in Education 60 Years after Brown. New York: Springer Press), and he has published over 200 articles and monographs.
