With the title “A Collaborative Essay,” the Center for the Development of Visual Arts (CDAV) and the National Council of Plastic Arts (CNAP) in Havana, Cuba, announce the seventh edition of the Contemporary Cuban Art Salon (Salón de Arte Cubano Contemporáneo—SACC), which opens on Friday, October 27, and will run until January 2018. According to the press release, since its first edition in 1995, the Salon has allowed for reflection on the routes of Cuban art, following a line of research established by the team of specialists of the CDAV.
On this occasion, the 7th Salon focuses on the need for collaboration in all its plurality of forms and coexistence for the benefit of creativity and the future of the visual arts.
Furthermore, the exhibition essay will include the participation of more than 40 projects and a set of lectures, conferences, and workshops on national artistic production at the CDAV and other cultural spaces around the country.
