Leading sports figures and workers from the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER), carried out voluntary work at the Ciudad Deportiva [Sports City] after the passing of Hurricane Irma in Cuba.

The National Coordinator of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR), Carlos Rafael Miranda Martínez, also summoned Cuban families to a day of mass mobilization with the purpose of contributing to the sanitation and rehabilitation of public areas, in support of all agencies that carry out these tasks.

Likewise, the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC) joined the call to rally people to join in cleaning homes, communities, and cities and vowed to help in the rehabilitation and restoration efforts.
