Puerto Rican ceramist Sylvia Blanco will be remembered by many. Blanco passed away on September 3, 2017. She was one of the foremost pioneers of the sculptural art of pottery in Puerto Rico; the quality of her work, her dedication, and the international recognition she received reaffirmed the discipline of ceramics on the island, especially in the 70s and 80s.
