The Center for Performance Arts in Rhinebeck, New York, presents a live reading of Luis R. Pérez’s debut novel Catharsis (2016). The novel centers on William Maldonado, from Puerto Rico, and his journey to overcome grief and conflict.
The event will take place on Friday, September 8, 2017, from 7:00 to 8:15pm at The Center for Performance Arts, located at 661 NY-308, Rhinebeck, New York. Suggested donation: $10; proceeds will benefit Rhinebeck High School’s Crew Club. Registration is recommended. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org (subject: “live reading registration”).
The readings will explore the nature of human struggle and self-forgiveness, imbued with a Caribbean ethos, unexpected humor, and cosmopolitan flavor. The presentation will be layered with background music by percussionist Roberto Rodriguez of the Jewish Cuban All Stars.
