Olympics silver medalist Luguelín Santos now racks up the gold


Dominican Today reports that Luguelín Santos, 400-meter silver medalist in the London 2012 Olympics, returned to Brussels to land another victory, winning the race at the Diamond League in 45.67 seconds.

Santos, born in Bayaguana 23 years ago, emerged from the last turn with a slight advantage that he stretched out along the straight to beat with a wide margin of 43 hundredths.

Second place went to Rabah Yousif (46.10) and the third to Martyn Rooney (46.29), both British.

Santos was also a bronze medalist at the World Championships in Moscow, and won the gold in the Taiwan University Games less than one week ago.
