Autogiro reports that Puerto Rican artists Raysa Raquel Rodríguez García and Sharon Nichole González Colón—members of the Moriviví Collective—will travel to China in September to paint two murals related to childbirth using their Caribbean vision and culture as a backdrop.

The artists, who studied at the School of Visual Arts and Design of Puerto Rico, will join 30 world muralists at The Miracle Mural Project in the artistic village of Hua Quan in China (Jiangxiy Province).

The artists will create two murals which start from nature and woman to develop a theme related to the childbirth, integrating key visual elements such as the “dama de noche” plant [Lady of Night or night blooming jasmin], little fire ants [abayarde], and a male figure symbolizing a floating island.
