Mayor Martin J. Walsh, city officials and members of the Hub’s Dominican community kicked off Boston’s weekend-long Dominican Festival yesterday with the raising of the Dominican flag over City Hall Plaza.
“This is one of the best weekends in our city and I want to thank you all for making it possible,” Walsh said while holding a miniature Dominican flag. “We are proud to host this great celebration in the heart of our city. … The contributions of our Dominican community are endless in art and food and music and so much more.”
