“Deconstructing Liberty: A Destiny Manifested,” curated by Marisa Caichiolo, will open on August 5 and will be on view through October 15, 2017, at Muzeo [Museum and Cultural Center] in Anaheim, California ( 241 South Anaheim Boulevard).
There are several artists who hail from the Caribbean in this collective exhibition; the participating artists are Eliú Almonte (Dominican Republic), Ángel Delgado (Cuba), Leonardo González (Honduras), Andrea Juan (Argentina), Reynier Leyva Novo (Cuba), Carlos Martiel (Cuba), Norton Maza (Chile), Omar Pimienta (Mexico), Luiza Prado (Brazil), Ángel Ricardo Ricardo Ríos (Cuba), Ricardo Rodríguez (Puerto Rico), Betsabee Romero (Mexico), Linda Vallejo (United States), and Eugenia Vargas Pereira (Chile).
Through performance, installation, video, and photography, these artists question ideas traditionally associated with American liberty as they resonate in forms of collective identity across the globe.
