A report by Suzette Fernandez for Billboard.
The new album, called Vives, will be released on Oct. 20 and features 18 new songs.
Carlos Vives is ready to drop new music. The Colombian superstar made two important announcements on Thursday (Jun 8) morning, during a press conference held in Cap Cana, Dominican Republic, where he will be performing at the Heat Latin music awards.
The eleven times Latin Grammy winning singer announced that he’s ready to drop third single “Robarte un Beso” on June 30, while his forthcoming album, called Vives, will be ready to go out on Oct. 20.
“The release of the album was delayed after I launched La Bicicleta,” Vives said during the conference, explaining that with the success of the song, the album’s recording process was stopped due to promotion commitments. The set will feature 18 songs that according to him are “a diversity of rhythms and lyrics,” going from urban rhythms to songs with messages of social interest.
Carlos Vives received two nominations in the third edition of the Heat Latin Music Awards, which will be held on Thursday, June 8th from Juanillo beach in Cap Cana, Dominican Republic. Other nominees include Prince Royce, J Balvin, Farruko, Fanny Lu and salsa singer Victor Manuelle, who will receive the Special Commitment Award.
