Obra Gallery Alegría [. . .] opens its doors for the exquisite solo exhibition of the renowned and successful Puerto Rican artist Enoc Pérez. With the exhibition “Enoc Pérez: 20 years of painting,” which begins on April 20, 2017 at 7:00pm, [the public] will have the privilege of contemplating in a single space all of his most recent work as well as pieces that have marked his twenty years of artistic production. At the moment, Enoc Pérez is the most known and better paid Puerto Rican artist on the international level. His work is included in the most important museums and collections internationally, including Germany, France, and Italy, among others. He has also had numerous solo and group exhibitions in Europe, the United States, Latin America, and the Caribbean.

Enoc obtained, in 1990, a BA in Arts at the Pratt Institute and, in 1992, an MA at Hunter College, both in New York City. His pictorial technique has attracted the attention of local and international curators and collectors for his innovative parallelism with the graphic technique of the monotype and the use of photography as a starting point to comment on the predominance of technology in contemporary art and the world. Recognized for his paintings of buildings in Puerto Rico, New York, and other parts of the globe, he will present in the exhibition the painting ” Alcaldía de Bayamón,” a structure designed by the prestigious architect Thomas Marvel and cataloged as one of the most innovative buildings in 1980, date of its inauguration [see image above].
