Cuban cinematographer Raúl Rodríguez was awarded the ICAIC’s National Film Award at a ceremony marking the 58th anniversary of the founding of the institution [Cuba’s National Film Institute] on March 24.
Rodríguez, a virtuoso photographer with a history of more than 50 years in the Cuban film industry and having worked on over 100 films, is considered a master of light, framing and composition. He is well known for films such as La bella del Alhambra, Maluala, El Brigadista, and Páginas del diario de Mauricio.
The ICAIC award is presented annually to honor the trajectory and corpus of work of a cinematographer living Cuba.
