Bajan Women Protest against Domestic Violence

The Voice reports that, as part of Women’s History Month across the Caribbean, protests against domestic violence attracted large numbers for #lifeinleggings rallies in Barbados.

#lifeinleggings was created by Barbadian feminist blogger, Ronelle King to share women’s stories on social media using the clothing as a symbol of women being criticised for revealing too much in close-fitting leggings.

Since her initial blogs about being harassed during her Barbados commute, the campaign has grown into a lively movement of women, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and civil society groups.
