Caribbean Life News reports that the Trinidad and Tobago government has agreed to name one of the state-owned aircraft, Caribbean Airlines Limited (CAL) after Calypso Queen of the World, Calypso Rose. The artist, who recently won the World Album of the Year award at the Victoire de la Musique award ceremony in France, was born Linda McCartha Monica Sandy-Lewis in Tobago. The government also plans to honor the renowned calypsonian with a diplomatic passport. Her single, “Leave Me Alone,” which she performed in France, became an instant hit and became the anthem for women during the T&T Carnival 2017.
