With less than two months to go to the 7th annual NGC Bocas Lit Fest, Bocas has announced that, in support of women’s work and to privilege their voices of women on the occasion of International Women’s Day (IWD) 2017, it has partnered with Women.Everywhere. (W.E.) to host “Her Stories”—an evening of readings, spoken word and open mic in Port of Spain, Trinidad.
This event will feature a panel of women writers, Elizabeth Walcott, Danielle Boodoo-Fortune, Ayanna Lloyd and Aliyyah Eniath, who will discuss the representation of women in their work with moderator Shivanee Ramlochan. This will be followed by spoken word performances and an open mic session facilitated by 2 Cents Movement poet, Deneka Thomas.
Date: Thursday 9 March, 2017
Venue: Alliance Française, 17 Alacazar St, St. Clair, Port of Spain, Trinidad
Time: 6:30pm – 9:00pm
