Caribbean films at the 2017 International Film Festival Rotterdam

The 2017 International Film Festival Rotterdam (The Netherlands), to be held from January 25 till February 5, 2017, will include these Caribbean and Caribbean-related films:

  • Antes que cante el gallo, drama, Arí Manuel Cruz, Puerto Rico, 2016, 98 min.
  • Atrás hay relámpagos, drama, Julio Hernández Cordón, Costa Rica/Mexico, 2017, 82 min (world premiere).
  • Blackhearts, documentary/music, Fredrik Horn Akselsen and Christian Falch, Norway/Iran/Greece/Colombia, 2016, 83 min.
  • Double Play, drama, Ernest Dickerson, USA/Curaçao, 2017 (world premiere).
  • El cuento de Antonia, drama, Jorge Cadena, Colombia/Switzerland, 2016, 30 min (international premiere).
  • Jean of the Joneses, Stella Meghie, comedy, USA/Canada/Jamaica, 2016, 82 min.
  • Kindah/One Family, documentary, Ephraim Asili, USA/Jamaica, 2016, 12 min (international premiere).
  • Tempo of Tomorrow Revisited, short film, Josh Gibson and Annie Gibson, US/Cuba, 2015, 13 min.
  • The Great Silence, short film, Jennifer Allora and Guillermo Calzadilla, Puerto Rico, 2016, 16 min (international premiere).
  • X500, drama, Juan Andrés Arango, Mexico/Colombia/Canada, 2016, 104 min.

IFFR will also include an onsite art installation/exposition called Testament of Hope and Failure by Tirzo Martha from Curaçao.
