We had previously posted on the 6th Dominican Republic Environmental Film Festival (DREFF) [Sexta Muestra de Cine Medioambiental Dominicana] and the screening of Rubén Abruña’s documentary film La casa ausente [The Absent House]. The DREFF runs from September 13-18, 2016, with screenings in 11 cities and more than 30 venues around the Dominican Republic. The documentary will be screened at four different venues:

September 14, 8:30pm: Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE)

September 15, 3:00pm: Alianza Francesa

September 15, 6:00pm, Special Activity*: Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU)

September 16, 7:00pm, Special Activity*: Centro León in Santiago de los Caballeros

*The Special Activity program describes: “The design of this sustainable home as well as the film have inspired a whole new generation of architects in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean who argue that sustainable architecture is the only true and responsible option for the planet in the crisis in which we live. With special collaboration of the magazine Arquitexto, all screenings of the documentary will be attended by renowned local architects who will speak to the public along with special guests Ruben Abruña, director of the film, and Fernando Abruña, famous Puerto Rican architect.”
