This Saturday, August 6, kick off “caribBEING In Brooklyn” at Brooklyn Museum with performances by Blacka Di Danca, Alejandro Guzman, Majah Hype, MeLo-X, Danielle Brown, the interactive exhibition #MYCARIBBEANHERITAGE, and more. caribBEING announces:
World renowned choreographer BLACKA DI DANCA leads a dancehall workshop at 6pm in the Brooklyn Museum Beirgarten, followed by Caribbean comedian MAJAH HYPE‘s performance at 7. DJ and Lemonade collaborator MELO-X will take over with his live set from 8 to 11pm.
Inside the Museum, ethnomusicologist DANIELLE BROWN will perform musical excerpts from her new book, EAST OF FLATBUSH, NORTH OF LOVE at 7:30. Be sure to catch our screening of the cult classic Rockers (6pm) or Bazodee (8pm).
caribBEING be moving our mobile arts space, CARIBBEING HOUSE from Flatbush, aka Little Caribbean, to the Steinberg Family Sculpture Garden.
