On Tuesday, July 19, at 7:00pm, the University of St. Martin (USM) is organizing a town hall meeting with media personalities, spoken word artists, intellectuals, activists, and short messages from international academics, to discuss what is happening in the United States and relate Black Lives Matter to the local reality on Sint Maarten and Saint Martin, the Caribbean, the wider Kingdom of the Netherlands, and other struggles for human dignity around the world.

In the link below, see the USM’s first contribution/invitation to the discussion in an essay signed by Dr. Francio Guadeloupe, President of the University of St. Martin; Dr. Natasha Gittens, Director of SCELL-USM; Ms. Wendie Brown, Division Head of the Business Management Programs; Mr. Josue Ferrol, Coordinator of the pre-USM program; and Mr. Pedro de Weever, Editor of the on-line journal Commentaries.,-st-martin-style.html
